Product Design

Creation is changing, manufacturing is changing, design is changing. Our product design class helps students to learn about the design process step by step, including the way we make things, the materials we use, and ways to apply this knowledge to develop product ideas that solve problems. Class will help students to make good product design portfolio based on student’s creativity, design thinking, and design process to bring new ideas, products, experiences, and value to companies, communities, and people. The Product Design’s Learning Outcomes are student-centered that include skills, abilities, knowledge, and values.

By end of program, you’ll learn:

  • Overall Product Design and Development Process, as a means to manage the development of an idea from concept through to production.
  • Employ research and analysis methodologies as it pertains to the product design process, meaning, and user experience.
  • Learn how to apply creative process techniques in synthesizing information, problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrate and employ hand drawing and drafting principles to convey concepts.
  • Learn how to use basic fabrication methods to build prototype models for hard-goods and soft-goods and packaging.
  • Learn all design process starting with research, ideation, refinement, prototyping and presentation
